Galen Smith grew up on the family grain farm north of Ethridge, Montana. Pat Smith grew up in Shelby, Montana. Galen and Pat were married in 1964 and took over the family farm a few years later.

      To compensate for the dry years in the 70's, we started a trucking business, Smith Grain Service, that consisted of  buying grain from the area farms and hauling it to Washington State to the barge sites, as well as supplying feed lots, dairy farms, etc., with feed barley. The decision was made to sell the trucks shortly after the railroad introduced the "unit train" and lowered the freight rates. The selling of the trucks prompted the starting of a repair shop, Smith Truck Service, in Ethridge to set up and rebuild trucks and build trailers for farmers that were adapting to having to haul their grain further and faster.

        With the 80's came more dry years (five in a row) and extra high interest rates that forced the sale of the family farm and the repair business. In 1985 Galen and Pat moved to Great Falls to find work. Galen worked for the Cummins dealer as a mechanic and then for the Freightliner dealership as a shop foreman and operations manager. 

      TTT Repair, Inc. was started in May of 1991. The business was housed in two different rental buildings until 1994, when Galen and Pat purchased property in the Great Falls Industrial Park and built a new facility. A couple of years later, due to an increase in business, an addition was built onto the shop to double the amount of shop space. Our son Barry Smith joined the business in May of 1991 and has remained with the business to this day and is the shop foreman.
